      The fiery colour of the woman's dress stresses her expertise with         fire.

      Reminds me of a poem by Archibald Lampman: ‘Up the steep             slope the horses stamp and strain’.


      Being cattle is thirsty work


      Some people idolise the past but for most it was ceaseless                  drudgery.

      He warms himself by the fire while she dreams of a better life.


      Venerable Venice: I hitch-hiked there in 1965. Got near it as night      fell and slept in a field before crossing to the town in the morning. 

     
     The parasols show that the wind is coming from the left and the          lady standing on the beach is leaning into it.
